Hi ...this is Jane Stafford

Welcome to first grade.

A little about myself:

I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1986, with a degree in Elementary Education. I also have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Rhode Island. I have taught at West Kingston School since 1987. I spent my first twelve years teaching second grade (one year was a grade2/3 split class) and the past sixteen years teaching first grade.
I have a husband, daughter who is 22 and a son who is 19. I have a golden retriever named Dallas that I frequently talk about at school!
I love teaching first grade because I feel I have the opportunity to provide a positive influence on each student's early educational experience. In addition, it is very rewarding to spend time with first graders because they are eager to learn and make strides in their learning daily.
